Using an Equivalent-Circuit Model to Design Ultra-Wide Band-Stop Frequency-Selective Surface for 5G mm-Wave Applications

In this work we propose a system of two frequency-selective surface (FSSs) with an ultra-wide band-stop response for 5G millimeter-wave applications. The analyses are based on the equivalent circuit method, which predicts transmission characteristics plane wave normal and oblique incidence, scattering matrix technique, provides result cascaded structure. geometries used in single-layer FSSs simple to design, series basic equations described order calculate inductance capacitance conducting strips. prototypes were fabricated measured anechoic chamber. first FSS is shaped four-arms star geometry, has resonant frequency at 27.92 GHz both simulated results. second quasi-square whose experimental numerical results 35.68 35.76 GHz, respectively, transverse electric polarization.
